CIVIL RIGHTS AT THE ROSENBAUM HOUSE
with Alvin Rosenbaum
Louis Rosenbaum and his son, Stanley, were leaders in the Civil Rights movement in our area. They participated in the Alabama Council on Human Relations, a bi-racial group that worked to solve discrimination issues calmly. Through this, they met and entertained leaders in the Movement at the Rosenbaum House. The Rosenbaums, active in the formation of public libraries in Florence worked to ensure they were available to both whites and African-Americans. Alvin Rosenbaum will discuss “Civil Rights at the Rosenbaum House” on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 1PM. His forty-five minute talk will take place in the auditorium next to the ticketing area followed by a tour of the Rosenbaum House. This event is free to the public.
